Are any of you working at fintech noticing a slow down in hiring for engineers? Less offers being put out, bar raising, less interviews on your schedule than normal, or anything like that? TC $220k #square #stripe #paypal #affirm #brex #coinbase #robinhood #chime #plaid
No
Nope but noticed you didn’t post total comp
Ahhh I forgot fuck. Updated
Not in my experience
Brex is hiring as fast as we can
You currently work at Brex? Would you be down to refer me?
Yeah, we're only going to grow by 20% of our current headcount now. I think we grew too fast in 2021, so we're dialing it back now. Getting an offer from Robinhood will be more difficult now than in 2021.
Was this accounced officially or hear say? I heard there is lot of attrition at hood? Is that true? Are you part of recruiting?
This was mentionned at all-hands by someone on the c-suite. I have no idea about the attrition situation. Many people are claiming to leave on Blind, but I haven't seen many people on the teams I know leave. Maybe I'm just not working with people who are leaving, but I can't comment about attrition. I am not part of recruiting. I used to interview 3 people a week, now I only interview 1-2 people per month.
We’re still hiring a lot but I think the focus will be more on product than other areas like infra.
I think we filled a good amount already but we're definitely still doing more hiring but strategically
