I got a consultant offer at Mandiant/FireEye, but I don't know much about how things are like there. How good/bad is it? What's the culture like? The role itself seems great and the pay is good too. I never tried consulting before, and I'm curious to try it as I may get to learn a lot. YOE: 4 TC: 150k #fireeye #mandiant
It's a lot more fire eye than mandiant. Core issues of why the company has struggled in the last 5 years have not changed per my knowledge. If the offer is good enough then sure why not.
Are you saying Mandiant is good?
Mandiant was good.
It sounds like a good opportunity. You will pick up some food skills doing consulting.

If your in Fireeye side of things, then the product you work on is making more money but the CEO doesn’t like you. If your on the mandiant side you will highly valued, but your segment is running at a loss and is being subsidised by the product side. So if a take over happens there is a chance that the mandiant side gets killed because of profitability issues. Personally I wouldn’t recommend joining Fireeye.
And everyone here who has been saying mandiant is or was good, is kidding themselves and you.

Company went to shit after the merger. Glad mandiant is back but it's still not focused on the right things.
Would now be a good time to join?
