Netflix has let go of 3 marketing executives after the thr trios conversation talking negatively about their bosses were captured and seen by senior management. According to the article none of the comments were abusive or disparaging, there was no need for termination This also raises interesting points about services like slack. How much privacy can you expect when venting to colleagues or bosses ? I personally won't use slack for venting . Will just jump on call to vent lol 😆 What do you think about neflix firing them? https://www-hollywoodreporter-com.cdn.ampproject.org/c/s/www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/netflix-fires-execs-over-slack-comments-1234982361/amp/ For the TC gangs : ~250K, 4yoe
I always assume that management has access to all my work chats, emails etc
Those people must very smart, they are talking smack about their bosses in writing. Well what could go wrong.
Yea but the boss they talked about think firing was too far. But I will rather rant over call. Even that have to make sure it's not recorded 😋
The way I see is, they must be fired for stupidity not because of their rants on their bosses.
Honestly…firing is too harsh but if you tell sh*t about your boss..make sure it can’t be snapped…so nothing in written and nothing on a company freakin slack…
And if you work at slack or Salesforce… probably on no slack workspaces :P
Lol why? If I say shit about my boss chances are 100% I am on the move already, so if I am called out on it, I'd tell it to his or her face. And also get a chance to find out who the asshole is that I thought I could trust.
Never expect privacy with any work tools
^this
Lol we have some shit on our computer that eats up 17 percent of the cpu. I assume it’s logging everything
3 marketing executives!? Ohh, a combined total of 6 brain cells! Who even talks about such shit on work apps!? Talk about it when you’re circle-jerking each other at your stupid dinners.
Was it over DM?
Agree that they are fired for stupidity rather than trashing their boss. Who does that in writing, on company platforms. Who know what other stupid things they said in slack?
Not surprising. Aside from chats being logged for HR reasons, when someone new is added to slack they can see the old messages. In the article it mentions someone got “a hold” of past messages and reported them.
I feel Netflix does it on purpose. They want to be in the limelight every weekend. Well they are already fired, who cares!
Nah, if they want that, they will just make another pedo movie with little girls twerking and push that as the top seen show or add more B grade movies to their list with a porn scene right in the beginning
This is cheaper
