Any Fitbit EEs can share how the work environment is? Work/life balance? Compensation? Company morale/excitement?
I work closely with the EE team. They’re wonderful people, for the most part. Almost entirely based in SF, but there’s a couple engineers in SD. Expect to travel to China often, but that’s the nature for consumer electronics. Work/life is not amazing, China calls can last to 8-9 PM a couple nights a week. The ones I’m friends with are happy.
Fitbit EE has seen some churn in the past year, but a really great team. The EE mgr. is one of the best I've ever worked with.
Culture is very good at Fitbit IMO. Lots of smart people pursuing big and meaningful ideas in health. Friendly people. Big egos are few (or don't last). Working on cool new software and hardware product keeps it interesting. Work life balance is solid (I'm not on the engineering side of house, so can't speak to their balance). Still has an early stage vibe, but the resources of a bigger company. Many of the standard perks you'd expect at a Bay Area company with some unique ones.
