Fitbit offer: Yea or nay?
Received an interesting offer from Fitbit. Am understandibly concerned because they're getting squeezed by cheaper knock-offs and the Apple watch. Stock has obviously been bouncing around in the 4's and low 5's. The recent Glassdoor reviews are mostly thumbs-down. On the bright side, I've read about the recent partnership with Google and the Versa seems to be well-received. Is the future looking up or should I just avoid? BTW, how're the healthcare plans? My son has a special needs.

Pay is crazy these days and wlb is awesome. Dunno what our future is, but I’m riding the train for now.
What the salary like?
My work life balance is incredible. Pay isn't too bad. Do your job, ride the train, ignore the negativity, and it's a solid gig if you care about wlb.

Fitbit watches are what people buy who want to be fit but don't realized exercise is hard to feel better about themselves. Same thing with people who buy a GoPro and realize their life is boring and buying a $300 camera to take a video of them swimming in hawaii wasn't worth it. So pretty much they are targetting the majority of Americans!
LOL. Nicely said man. I work with a dude who wears a Fitbit but is obese, guzzles soda and energy drinks, and eats vending Machine donuts for breakfast.
That's like saying Expedia is for people going through a mid life crisis and desperately need a vacation and use the lamest path of least resistance to go on holiday and do touristy stuff you could do anywhere. They're the people who bring the gopros to Hawaii you speak of. 😉
Overall I’d say the mission, comp and flexibility make it a better place than FANG where I came from. I’m paid well and get exposure to our leadership team. It’s a different risk reward profile but I’m a fan and love the culture and my team. Glassdoor is full of really negative stuff, true but it’s about the team and the role too. If strongly consider it if the role and team are a good fit
My friend joined fitbit and planning to leave aleady. But main reason for him to look for other option is commute.
