Hi Flexporters, Just got an offer for EM position in Amsterdam's office. Looking for insights on what is the culture there (both engineering and corporate), company goals, tech state, wlb and all things that matter. Spent 6+ years at Booking before, YoE 15+, current TC 180k+ eur. #tech #offer #em #engineeringmanagercomp #flexport #amsterdam
Can you share the interview experience?
Without much details, I had 8 interviews in total (excl. HR screen). Feels like they really want to hand pick the right person for the company. Overall very pleasant experience.
What role are you working in Bcom. Is it Sr EM (H level) and can you pls share breakup of same.
What’s the offered TC?
Base is less than my current one, RSU are higher. The difference is that my current RSU are liquid and Flexport's are not until IPO
Seconded, excellent time to join. Hope you accept!
I’ve worked with some of the EU engineering team. Solid bunch, seems less chaotic than the US tbh.
Is Flexport hiring people from outside Europe?
I declined my flex offer. Tc was like 2k under my google salary and flexportos seems a bit too meme tech buzzword soup for me. Also the engineering team seems so depressed.
Well I accepted my flex offer over Google and a bunch of others. So make your choice accordingly. Whole bunch of people with their own opinions. Make your choice wisely!
Company culture is great, seems way better than Flexport US from what I can see.
Hey booking, did you end up joining ?
Nope, bailed out in the end. They failed to tolerate that I have a side project which I work on during evenings, and retracted the offer immediately
Wow thats crazy. How can they even find out?
