Hi, I recently got an offer for flexport for their Bellevue location for SDE II New TC: 298k (base 173k, rsu 108.5k(31k shares @$14), annual bonus 17.3k) Any room for negotiation? Also is it safe to move in this economic climate especially to a startup? Current TC: 170k at Google #faang #startups
Can u reply dm
Not much difference from ur google other than paper
Yes true, the stock price fucked my TC. Prior to this it was around 190k.
Ehhh I wouldn't use the $14 number. Probs half that rn. Contrary to the above, there are teams working on new vision/new products but all team dependent.
I am buying from EquityZen at $9.9. Does that seem fair? Does IPO seem possible in 2023?
2024 seems more likely. 2023 is a rough year
Recruiter here. Bunch of ex Google eng here now. I'd reach out to a couple and see how they like it and how it compares.
From what I see at flexport, very little conviction RSUs will be valuable one day. Business is at a turning point. Unclear if we will be able to survive
Turning point in a good way or bad?
YOE?

Can you Please share interview experience
I had a recruiter call that talked about my background. Technical phone screen: was an ood question about shipping containers. Was asked to implement in phases with each building upon each other. These questions were pretty simple and didn't require too much thinking. Just make sure you structure your code in a way that makes sense and is easy to modify for future features requests. Onsite was 3 rounds: coding/system design, behavior. Coding is the same as phone screen. System design was based on design Uber/Lyft. They mostly focused on the technical aspect like api design, database schemas and protocols used to handle communication used between serviced (if you mentioned that you'll split it into microservices). No need to worry about scaling it, but just talk about what are some potential issues that can happen if we need to scale. Behavior round is your typical round where you just answer in STAR method. We went into a deep dive into my background and technical work. A lot of the time actually was spent on me talking about my technical work. But also standard questions like why are you looking for a change. What would you do in x situation. Overall, my process was really smooth. Make sure to be able to identify gaps or error prone issues that you see during any part of the technical portion.
Thank you!
Dang, every time I apply boom rejected sad tbh
