Dude like food delivery sucks. I don’t understand how #doordash or #ubereats are even successful. I ordered like $24 worth of things and suddenly at the end of the transaction it’s about $44. Like restaurants are marking up $10 items as $13 on delivery apps since they have to give a cut to the delivery apps. Then you have taxes plus service fee. Then you add a delivery fee. Then you add a California fee of $2. And then you expect a tip between 15-20%. This is just plain bs.
Um so don't use them?
Yeah that’s what I did. But I’m surprised more people don’t do the same.
Lot of people do the same. I stopped ordering food for the same reason. I would rather call them and place the order and drive up. The thing is there is definitely a market for this. There is definitely a need for this kinda service, but currently it doesn't make sense for the customer to pay so much extra. These companies need to figure out an alternate way to stay afloat and pay the drivers. The current companies will run out of business when a new company comes in which has a better business model which doesn't charge the customer insane amounts.
TC or GTFO. And if your TC is 10x more than the person cooking that food or delivering it, you should still GTFO.
Nope. That’s a bs argument. The price of commodities don’t get priced based on who ordered it. It get priced based on what it’s worth is. Take that virtue signaling argument and shove it where the sun don’t shine.
Thanks Twitter for shutting down the toxic woke generation! Btw, is it possible that you just pick up the food? I mostly just pick up food because its just insanely cheaper.
ULPT: Complain about missing food even if all of it arrived and they’ll comp your entire bill, but don’t do it too much or it’ll look sus
It’s complete bs, anyone who says otherwise probably spends 1k+ a month in food
I stopped using them for this exact reason. The petty dollar grabs just pissed me off too much. I call in and pick it up because eff DoorDash and Uber and the rest of your crappy companies doing this stuff
In Seattle there is no up mark but in Bay area I found every restaurant had up mark
“Don’t boo. Vote” 😎 Vote with your money and stop using these services?
Yup that’s what I did. But I’m surprised more people don’t.
Agree. I have done DoorDash delivery and lots of poor people order it. Not sure why they waste their money
I've done a few app deliveries for the sign up bonuses they occasionally offer. I couldn't believe the poor to middle class folks ordering tons of food on there
I never tip; why tip when there’s a delivery fee?
Kind of dick move but also makes sense. It would probably takes hours to deliver your orders. Drivers don’t accept orders with low payment
Dick move why ?

How much should someone get paid to hand deliver your food in their own vehicle? In your opinion
It’s the shitty companies taking the money, not the drivers. I’d gladly comp my driver in tips only like delivery used to be when I was a kid. But when I’m paying excess food prices (yes everyone knows actual food is marked up), gas fees, delivery fees, service fees, taxes and local regulation fees, that’s a big no from me.
In my opinion, if I’m ordering from a place within a mile, paying more than $10 extra is a sin.
