Do you use a luxury car as a daily?
Is it the “employment gap” and having your resume show you were laid off? Is no money coming in? Is it having to explain to employers you were laid off? Is it the ups and downs of job searches? Or something else?
The fear and uncertainty of being able to provide for the family, pay mortgage, etc... Also the self doubt of whether you are good enough to get a new job.
Getting interview and getting rejected is the worse part. No money coming in is tied together with keep getting rejected
And the fact that interview processes take 4+ weeks just to give us a rejection in the end
I also wanted to know how does employer see the unemployment status of employee. How much difference does it make?
Not knowing when you will be able to land on your next job.
Apart from all the above reasons, for me it is the realization that I can be easily replaced by a company in a blink of an eye. Accompanying that is the loss of motivation to do anything worthwhile passionately because it all can go away so soon and it doesn't matter. Without the passion, I can't be innovative and it is all so mundane.
Navigating all the immigration stuff and having only 60 days to find a job
Btw, there have been many layoffs recently, so there is no bad stigma or association for it. Don't worry about that.
Judgemental prick of interviewers who will ask BS leetcode problems now, nitpick about edge cases and then cry about leetcode 6 months later when they themselves get laid off.
Nitpicking edge cases is literally what programmers are paid to do...
Nope. They are paid to produce solutions considering tradeoffs. If nitpicking solved all problems, there would be zero bugs. Look at your bug tracker and tell yourself honestly how many bugs you have.
It is being desperate and joining an absolute shit company. FML
