Hi Blinders! New to this website so plz forgive me if I haven't followed protocol. Recently received an offer from Ford: base salary 110K sign on bonus 5K yearly targeted bonus 7.1K at GSR7. Would like to know your thoughts on whether the compensation is competitive enough and if anyone has information on Ford's wiggle room for negotiations. All thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated! Currently have a little over 5 years of work exp (3 international + 2.5 in the US) and hold a Master Degree from the US. Sounds about good. You could maybe negotiate like $10k more because master's but I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Ford does offer RSUs here and there but not consistently
If the role is not HTHD then they are. It eligible for RSUs
So, I am a GSR 7 with 15 years IT ops experience (1 year as a green stripe) and 4 years in MP&L. This is almost identical to what I make. I got my Masters two years ago and was told I make too much money for any type of raise, now I am getting responsibilities because of it. In the last 4 years, I have received no major pay bumps or promotions.... It's kind of a trap because right now they are more focused on bringing in outside talent than promoting from within. I took the role primarily to get my blue stripe. For you with only 5 years total experience and if the role is in Michigan, I would take it. I am thinking in a few years the mindset will change and they'll start promoting from within the company again.... I hope, it's a good company with good people, that is why I stay.
Sir you are highly underpaid and leveled for 15y exp. I was at GSR8 132k with 10y exp (8y at ford, 5y blue stripe) when I left ford in 2022.
Good offer for GSR7 with only 5y exp. Can’t hurt to ask for 121k and 8k sign on. Worst they can do is meet in the middle or say no to an increase.
HTHD makes a difference when comparing with others
Sign on they can easily do 10k .. just ask

I am starting to think Chinese interviewers currently fail non-Chinese candidates on purpose.
It’s a good TC ( given that auto is going through a rough patch). Are they giving you and RSU’s ( Stocks)? If not you can negotiate a bit more on your base pay and variable pay ( bonus)… Is this a SE role ?
I dont believe they offer RSU's at GSR levels. And, no, they havent mentioned any provision of RSUs. This is for a Mechanical Engineering Role. thanks for your input!
