i just did interview with Ford. Quality engineer. I never been interview with Big 3 before but are they all heavy and serious like that? They asking 6 questions that already made like robot. Super weird and uncomfortable interview experience ever. #ford #automotive #interview
It's to encourage merit rather than people's inherent biases. Though there bias still. Greeting and end of interview period is for friendly talk. Before covid there would be on site visits which allowed for more small talk. Now with everything online it's more robotic. You have do everything in the given 60 min zoom call.
Try to see if you can check off as many Diversity boxes as you can -- a lot of these companies make it super easy if you are a diversity candidate
All are competent people as they need to score good

Musings (rant?) of an old timer
Interview questions are your standard boring STAR scenario question. Very structured and given from HR. GM is same way.
Idk if thats really helpful to find good candidates. I never did that kind of interview so I think I got screwed up. But honestly that was the worst experience personally.. maybe I never gonna get hired from big 3 then..
Well from what I've read here, tech companies have 6 to 8 rounds of interviews -- so almost 8 hours of interviews!! 6 questions is reasonably trivial in comparison!!
