I was interviewed by the manager from Chicago Ford Plant, the manager told me working hour is 10 hours a day and 5 days a week. He told me the extra 2 hours will be paid as OT even engineers is salary based. I want to verify if this is true? How does the hourly rate calculated? Any inside infor? #ford
I see. If it is shift based, then anything above 40 hours will be OT. Just base pay rate I believe ~ (yearly pay / 2K)
I can confirm, a friend at Ford has a few hours OT@1X pay
OT pays 1X? Isn’t suppose to pay 1.5X over 8 hours? Do you mind ask him?
He told me that he works approx. 55 hr/week and gets only 8 hours of OT max per week, at 1X pay. He's in program management though. it might be department specific
This is really dependent on the team manager. I’ve rarely seen ot paid for engineers, maybe twice in 15 years. What’s most common is pto but hardly ever get a chance to use it if are in launch mode.
Depends on the team. For most software jobs, no OT $$$ but you may get comp time off after negotiating with your supervisor.
thanks, I wish this is a software engineer role. This requires to stay with the shift for 10 hours in the factory..
