Forgot to Update SEVP portal
Context: International Student on OPT and I’ve forgot to update the SEVP portal with my Employer Information. It’s been 91 days since I’ve received my work authorization and 71 days since I’ve started my employment. It might potentially take another 5 days to fill in the Employer details in the SEVP portal. What could the repercussions be? Loss of Status? If yes, what will the impact be on H1B (It got picked in this years lottery) Thanks In advance Edit: My DSO was able to update it. #workvisa #h1b #rfe #opt

Maybe but the way the rules are written that means you got employed on 80-90the day and so you have till the 90-100th day to report the change

AFAIK DSO has an additional 30 days to update stuff even after deadline, assuming you can prove your employment started before 90 days ended & you are well within it you should be good. Next time don't take a risk, there is a review every 6 months on STEM OPT.
Same thing happened to me but as long as your SEVIS is active, update it asap and you’ll prbly be fine. Things will become serious when your account gets deactivated

Hello My friend SEVIS got terminated on Friday, as it was his 100th day after his OPT started. He is employed since day one of the OPT, only mistake from him is he forgot to update it. Is there any way out of this ? Does anyone know someone who was in similar situation Your help is much valued Thanks in advance
Talk to DSO, DSO can backdate but not sure if its possible after SEVIS terminated. Get a lawyer immediately.
Update it asap ... all changes need to be made within 10 days ... also why would it take 5 more days to update it ... stop everything else you’re working on and focus on getting this fixed ASAP or you’re going to be kicked out of the country
