Free Online MBA - Worth It?

Currently a microsoft vendor looking to climb the Product Management tree. My Grandma’s trust will pay for any graduate degree i pursue. I have a wife and kid so i need a flexible arrangement. Worth it to go for an online MBA, part or full time (from a legit program like UNC)? Will it help get me to the next level? I have great grades and 4 YOE. I feel like I should take advantage of the free ride and my hard work in undergrad.

MBAs are only worth it to network, there's nothing in there you will actually use at work.

Just 4 YOE. you are still a kid. Do some more coding and expand your horizon by working into multiple domains and multiple technologies

That’s a wage cuuck mentality. 4 YOE is perfect to go to an MBA fast track a management career. Instead of an online MBA, I’d suggest an executive MBA from any of the top schools who basically sell them to Indians wanting to try and be prestigious. Wharton is the most common, per my LinkedIn feed this seems to sell the most MBAs and also provides graduates a template of how to announce their Wharton MBA, to update their headline to not just say MBA but Wharton MBA. Note, they only seem to provide the latter to Indians because all the other eMBA graduates don’t do this obnoxiousness. Aside from Wharton, HAAS (Don’t you dare call is Cal or Berkeley, the instructions given to Indian graduates says not to), and I think Cornell and CMU operate degree mills in the Bay Area.

Do you are saying it’s worth doing part time Mba or executive mba from top schools ?

Lmfao, calling this “Free” because you’re using your grandmothers money? It’s not free, she worked for it. Actually think about what you’re doing and don’t blow it because “it’s not my money.” Kids are mental these days, Jesus.

I said “free” for clickbait. Last post I didn’t get responses. Of course it’s not free and I care a lot about how her money is spent...that’s why I’m asking for advice.

Leave the money for your kid's school. Wait 5 more years then do the MIT EMBA and have your employer pay for it. It costs about $180k, your trust can cover the few thousand in books and travel.

Thank you!
