In 2022 I made a post about receiving 11 offers https://www.teamblind.com/post/11-offers-Google-Facebook-Stripe-Twitter-Coinbase-and-more-[AMA]-BtJgBkZu Today, I am laid off from my employer If I go out there again I am unlikely to receive that many offers, if any, as I know the market is impacted heavily. I also have to prep all over again now. What a ride tech has been. Feels surreal. A true rollercoaster. One thing for sure, it does make me feel alive. My life is not boring. TC: 0 yoe: 8 #tech #layoff #block #letsdothis
“One thing for sure, it does make me feel alive. My life is not boring.” Keep up that spirit - you are winning at life!

OP, really appreciate this honest post and update thanks! I was reading that original post and the comments, and wow the first comment was right on "All these "senior" offers that companies are offering are really going to backfire on them one day." Except they backfired on the employees and not the companies 😟 two years later.
But the thread said you accepted Coinbase. When did you join Block?
I left Coinbase to join Block shortly after layoffs were happening. In hindsight I loved my job at Coinbase and maybe should have stayed. But left out of fear.
The bald man forgiveth
Lol circle of life. Whats the severance block gave
I heard 16 weeks + 1 week per year of service
Damn thats good
I am sorry. I know it really hurts. I was in that situation. But based on 11 offers you had received ,end of tunnel isn’t far away.
Sorry. Did you choose block out of all the offers?
No Coinbase then left for Block
4+ months of paid vacation. Lay me off every year please!
"Vacation" I do have to prep. And I generally take it too seriously (as seen in that old blind post)
If you go to a vacation after loosing your job, you’ll be in very looong “vacation”
Only worry is, now I, without any offers, need to compete with people who got 11 competing offers. Hope you get an offer soon and out of competition 😄
This is next level, any reason for laid off ? May be you were on high salary bar.
I assume that's the case. Long timers and those in Canada did not get laid off, but those that joined recently with high TC did. But it's just speculation hard to ever know.
High TC is definitely a reason to be made part of a layoff. Remember it’s them not you.
If you got 11 offers in 2022 you will be fine.
Maybe 3-5 offers you can get in this market, assuming you are as ready as 2022.
Sad to hear . Hopefully you find something soon
