Adobe is super chilled-out from what I heard. They also have a lot of C++, so that's going to help out if you want to move to HFT engineering later.
I worked for Adobe before joinjng amazon. I had my best time there. I am thinking of going back at certain point.
Howz your experience in both in terms of kind of work, work culture, management etc
It differs by team and office location. But it is really good in general. I was part of security org and the things Adobe does is really cool. Definitely a market leader in terms of security. Adobe won many security awards for tools they built. Wlb and work culture is amazing. people are pretty chill and if you work hard, your work is recognized and compensated. Definitely different from Amazon. I think it comes from a tough promotion culture in Amazon(at least for my org) people backstabbing each other to make wins over other coworkers.
If politics is driving you out of Amazon, Adobe is no better.
It doesn't make much sense. Adobe has bad quality of work in most of the teams, plus too much politics. Atleast Amazon pays better and has good brand value. Try switching in other companies - google, LinkedIn, Microsoft etc.
I would also say be prepared, you may land up in similar environment as amazon even at Adobe. Adobe is no less in Pl politics part. Also apart from few teams rest don't have lot of innovative work.
Fellow Adobe employees, from your comments it seems that Adobe also has lots of internal politics going on. At Amazon, a manager can fire you just to build up his promotion case. Do you see such cases at Adobe also?
You can move internally, can't you?
Very limited options here
I see. Adobe is a good company. If the salary is competitive, do it.
