Hello, I recently graduated and have an IS degree, I am currently an operations manager and I want to break into lockheed martin. Does anyone have general tips around the recruitment process or could possibly give a referral? Can DM my resume if needed #lockheed #referral #lockheedhiring #lockheedmartin
Honestly, Lockheed is super hard to get in to unless you know someone already there who can slot you in. It’s a huge company so this varies but this was my experience. Sending an app through the careers site is like throwing your resume down a black hole :(
Hmm, it might vary by field though, they are desperate AF for software engineers out in Palmdale, so I got interviewed and hired within a month

Real talk: in what way private schools are better than public in nyc?
Are you trying to get into IT contracting? Most people I know were ex-mil. Same for GDIT. About 5% of the contractors I supervised made it without a mil background. Having the company shell out a TS that costs them $100k is a tough sell when they can just poach uniformed service members.
Systems analyst, program management or project planning has been on my radar. I was told they do a ton of civilian hiring now for most of their roles.
Ah sorry then, I didn’t really interact with the corporate side of any of the defense contractors. Best of luck.
