Future of Data Engineering.....?

Hey Guys, How will be the future of Data Engineering in coming decades, is it worth staying or better to switch to SWE roles. I’m not really concerned about compensation as I love to work with data but I get mixed opinions from friends on the same, so just wanted to check with you guys. Any opinions?? TC: 90k YOE: 2

Physics, mathematicians and everyone whose good with math is jumping in. More people, less jobs

Not sure - that's probably for data science. Data engineering is different afaik

SWE is way better. Unless you just really love data munging and writing basic ETL.

That's not DE. That's existed for decades. DE is a very new field that addresses fairly recent engineering needs.

ask yourself this question. Who’s solving actual problems? SWE or DE? DE is just a fancy alias for BI. DE is already trending into more supply and average demand.
