What is average COL for one-person household in the two? Is this by any means accurate or the data look too stale? TC 380 YoE 12 #col #seattle #mountainview #bayarea #sanfrancisco https://livingcost.org/cost/united-states/wa/seattle
Don't read much into them. Do your math. Some stuff like rent may sound similar but quality can drastically differ, etc.
No income tax in Seattle.
Do the rent cost look on avg accrate?
Seattle if u wanna buy a house and save more
u know yall can make more in texas right?
Thanks but not an option for me atm
You can't put a price for depression.
Seattle offers free depression too
@Aapl Thanks mate for sharing detailed insights!
I live in downtown Seattle, came here from the Bay Area. I agree with the @Google’s comment, it’s hard staying here with this weather. It’s not even the rain it’s the constant grey and clouds. I am planning on moving back in the next few months when my lease is over. No amount of money can bring happiness if you can’t really enjoy it. Bay Area has everything albeit expensive, better food, better dating scene, better employment scene. My 2c, I know people who’ve lived in Seattle long time might disagree. But wanted to provide another data point. Just don’t look at only money, see more holistically what works for you.
Bay area is very polluted and too hot in the summer. That's a big deal breaker.
@Snap thank you so much for detailed explanation and elaborated perspectives. You're right, choosing a city is far bigger question than COL alone. For the first few months of relocation, I need to be as conservative as possible while I breaking into the new city. Once I gain some traction I think I would be able to better pick and choose the city that meet best my lifestyle and needs
Wait the “after tax salary”… for real??? I’m in Seattle but been wanting to move to CA
What is it like to live in Seattle? You live in dt?
After tax number in that picture is bullshit. My take home is more in Seattle compared with Bay Area and I had to take a10% base cut. That source is terrible. Seattle is definitely cheaper than Bay Area, especially housing. Lots of new apt buildings being built, can’t say the same in bay
