Neck and radiating pain towards the left arm

Hey blinders I have neck pain especially when I try turning my head left side. I have mild radiating pain on my left arm as well. Went to the ER. Fortunately no issues with my heart. They suggested me to visit my primary care physician. I am new to Austin. The wait time to meet a PCP is horrible. Specialist visits are as long as green card queues lol. I have the neck pain for a few months and the radiating arm pain for the last 2 weeks. I have a good chair and I have recently started to exercise Any suggestions ? I am sure this did not happen overnight. I am willing to put effort but some internet posts say this could be permanent ?? L5 SDE 10 YOE Austin 270K

That’s what people get from sitting all day and coding.

Pinched nerve. Get an mri. Pain meds Chiropractor Massage therapy Physical therapy Injections The ergonomic setups aren’t a gimmick or a lie. Don’t look down when working.

They are connected. It’s probably some strain in your shoulder or the neck. Do a lot of stretches to your neck, shoulder and arms. You can YouTube it.

If it is related to herniated disc you might want to explore Physical therapy. It helps but will take some time in order for you to see results. I had similar issue where doctor recommended me surgery. I am able to avoid it through a year of physical therapy. Now I am 85% of what I was before seeing the issue. If pain is too much, you can explore it with pain management specialist for injections. I had them but didn’t help me much to be honest.

Exactly had this for 6 months last year. It was horrible. - Buy that 1K ergo chair. It is a must. - stretch, the most important is chin to chest. Do this while you walk, sit in a car or sit any where. - use warming pads at night. - hot showers

Get an MRI done for the neck. It most likely is a displaced C2 C3 disc pinching on one of the nerves. Get some physiotherapy. 1. Avoid sitting for long time. Take breaks. 2. Have adequate rest/sleep 3. Drink fluids.

Yes. It's most likely this. I had exactly same symptoms couple of years back. It got fully cured now. I tried multiple things but finally what helped was physiotherapy where they hang some weight from your neck to let the space between disk increase little bit to settle the pinching nerve.

I think it’s something trivial I’m a heavy weightlifter and I have plenty of injuries and from my experience I can tell you you just need to do a lot of stretches and exercise and not just sit in one place I deadlift more than 400 pounds and leg press 700 pounds

I had same symptoms as you. MRI showed C6-C7 disc herniation. Took 6 weeks for the pain to subside. Go to Airosti in Austin they are best for this kind of issue.

Thank you!! Do you mind telling your symptoms and treatment ? I mean did you have any surgery ?
