What is the current state of GCP, how do you perceive its organizational leadership and what are your thoughts of its future? #google #gcp TC420
GCP shall face wrath by mid of next year. Its losses is mounting at a faster pace than its growth. Revenues increasing ain't enough. Their net loss is as bad as any startup. Leadership Mr. Thomas has probably got a year or two to show results. GCP will go down the drain.
One night say that there will be blood on the streets
Dont you think that GCP is too big to fail after the billions Google put into it?
GCP sales here. Future is bleak. Enterprise customers only interested in GCP for niche data workloads but losing ground to Snowflake, Databricks, and even Tableau. Also losing ground to AWS’s startup program fast so the traditional market space is eroding. I don’t get the leadership here, I see a lot of complacency and “so what” attitude. Plus it’s absolute chaos internally, lots of overlapping roles, systems that don’t work, etc. As far as future? Continuing the same is all I’ve seen and I don’t see any desire to do anything different. Holding a small market share and mounting losses appears to be tolerated by Sundar. Now if he is replaced we might see some changes.
GCP Leadership are the stupidest idiots I've seen in suits. Cloud customers are SO risk averse. And yet Google pulls stupid stunts like *sunsetting the IoT service for embedded*. They really are the most complete dimwits.
I agree 100%. Being on the inside there’s a lot of folks in leadership positions that we don’t understand how they got there, and this is how you end up with decisions that don’t make much sense. I don’t enjoy it here and will exit after only 1 year, the shortest tenure I’ve had at any company in my career.
The only deals they win are the ones they buy. Totally unsustainable.
Foxed….. completely foxed from the outset - if you enter a market with an existing market leader already established then you better give it complete and full backing to dominate the market and become the new brand name for the product. Google failed to do that with GCP so far…… not building confidence with the user base. If you are not a winner but just an also-ran looking for a participation medal then by default it’s being a loser.
My experience hasn’t been good with AWS and hence making a move to GCP now. But with the comments above, I am getting concerned if it’s the right move for me.
Has AWS really frozen enterprise sales roles - in their sports divisions?
I'm in GCP. One thing I can tell you in that AWS is seeing a plateau while GCP being smaller is still on the upward trajectory. The way I see it, GCP is a safer bet than AWS that will start laying off in a year or two.
Just turned down an offer for GCP TAM because of poor experience with the product. The name recognition is great but no way would I want to be caught in between customer needs and that product.

SAP really pay that much?
TC sounds fake. You’ll never know the truth
My TC is rather rare for SAP, more than 100k of it is in equity. But I’m also not that young…
