I recently joined GE, and I feel their total compensation for a staff software engineer is bit below the market range. I was offered 150k base and a 10 percent bonus.
YoE?

Woah. It's a little below market for non-FAANG too with your experience I think. What's the TC? Hope they are matching with bonus & RSU
GE notoriously pays low.
lol this is GE in San Ramon ? 😭
How many YOE? What location? That's significantly below market range lol
If you look through blind and expect everyone to pay you that much, you are sadly mistaken. Many people got there by upping their LC skills, smashing their interviews and getting multiple fang offers. Need to keep grinding.
Yeah , that’s what I realized when interviewing at one the faang companies. The questions were not one real world problems that I solved at work, it was based on the LC . I was just relying on cracking the coding interview which didn’t help much with the nature of interviews these days
Aviation? GED? Location?
Only 10%? It’s supposed to 15% for LPB in GED.
Lot's of people trying to compare TC in FAANG to non-RSU positions in other F500 companies is hilarious. For future reference, the Op's base salary is the same or higher than most base salaries in FAANG. These other F500 companies do offer some form of a bonus (but that is inconsequential). The difference with FAANG TC is that FAANG offers RSUs which make up a significant portion of TC. In other words, it's cheaper for the company to 'promise' "x" number of RSUs in exchange for lowering your base salary. Meanwhile, to cash out those RSUs, you must agree to work "x" number of years. To the Op with 14 years of experience...if he or she couldn't pass FAANG coding interviews (even after rehearsing), then what have you been doing as a developer for the last decade? In tech, we can't afford to get too comfortable!
What's the pay band for Staff SWE at GE nowadays?
Then why did you join
I didn’t clear the Fang interviews
