GOOG or MSFT?
Comparing below offers (Bay Area). Any suggestions? GOOG: L5 180/400/50 (TC: 350k) MSFT: L64 165/360/30 (TC: 310k) MSFT team is better fit in terms of work and stress level so confused. Current TC 300k YoE 10
Dude are you kidding? In terms of resume building and overall career growth, G is still 2 tiers above MSFT. I mean, yeah, MS is doing a lot better than 5 years ago, sure...but...G is still Tier 1. Come on. G is a huge org and I hear it’s not crazy these days, lots of people resting and vesting, soooo...I’m sure you’ll find a good team even if you don’t like the first one.
How are you working out TC? 180 + 400 / 4 = 280
Firebase is not that great, cutting edge stuff. If you are in Azure, go to MS else G.
Why move for 3% raise?
Would you suggest negotiating with MSFT? Recruiter won’t budge.
Every company has its limits. Most companies can do fairly well with good hires instead of exceptional hires. The 4 attributes, { pay, wlb, project, brand name } is not always related. Your final decision is a judgement call.
If you’re interested in staying more than 4 years watch out because Microsoft won’t give you stock refreshers that come anywhere near the number they’re offering now.
Microsoft if 1)you are willing to move to Seattle 2) you can get that same comp there 3)you want to coast and rest and vest.
That’s a very lowball offer for L5. Most L4 offers I see have 400k RSU.. Get fb offer, renegotiate with Google and go to google..
I thought u could get higher tc at L5 at google in Bay area. I saw 350 for L4 on blind a while back in Seattle. But that might be the high end.
