Asians - what are your thoughts on asian female white male ?
I'm currently in the process of doing team matching with Google. As I understand, after that there is Exec Approval stage, where I might still get a reject. How often does this happen / why does this happen ? What happens if I get a reject ? I can't interview again for 1 year ? Can I go again through team matching ? Can I apply at other Google locations ? Any other thoughts on getting reject during this stage ? Thanks!
pretty much a lock...i think it’s a vestigal system that’s mostly a formality at this point.
It's basically a formality, AFAIK
From hiring manager sending details to hiring committee how much is the typical wait time ?
The first time I applied to Google I was rejected by SVP review - I was also told that it's extremely rare.
What role / level ? What happened after ? What wew your options ?
L3 as a new grad. I went to Facebook instead.
I passed hiring committee and did not get anything in team match. But I had certain non competes (could not work on ads related stuff) and Kirkland had very limited choice of team hiring at that time.
Wat happened after? Did u get option for further matching in Seattle / Mountain view ?
Relocation was not an option for me. And I did not want to commute to Seattle, I started this before starting interviews. I was not really looking at that time anyway, recruiter contacted me so I decided to practice interviewing just do kicks.
I did get an SVP rejection today. The recruiter didn't mention the reason, he just suggested to apply again in about 10 months. It came as a shocker since it was the very last step in the process and I had almost assumed that I've gone through.
You are good. SVP rejections are extremely rare.
What are they usually based on?
Change in headcount, etc. Very rare for Executive committee to overturn the hiring committee. Especially if you're in engineering you're good once you pass hiring committee and get matched to a team.
