GOOGLE & AMAZON - Possible new round of layoffs
As much as we have layoffs, most likely google and amazon would do another round sooner than later. Especially with the ER results and reducing costs
They knew these were going to be the earnings results. You can forecast that a few months in advance. Thatâs why they did the layoff

Apple how about you focus on your own finances.
Things will get worse this year. More layoffs in Amazon and many other industries guaranteed. When the Fed pivots, things will get worse.
Uh what. Fed pivot is the bottom
No Google. Go look at the last several downturns, when the fed pivots is not the bottom. Itâs when things get worse. In 2000 and 2008, the âbottomâ came several years after the fed pivot.
Do you really think the day they released earnings was the day they found out? They knew it was going to be bad. Thatâs why they did layoffs. If it gets worse they might do more but if it stays the same or gets better they probably wonât.

I feel the same way. The retail number is a pain. Google hardware division does look risky too.
Tbh, Google is not over bloated as amazon. Amazon SWEs will be safe, but more about other roles like warehouse workers, etc etc. Google already reduced 6% and with market stabilization, ad spend would again pick up.
