My opinion is that GSuite is much superior for web experience. Office 365 seems to be doing good but I think that's because MS sells it to enterprises who are already using desktop apps and are MS customers. I haven't seen any startups using O365 In which areas, office 365 is better than GSuite and vice versa.
I would definitely have to agree here. I think the only areas where O365 is doing better than office are: 1. Formatting options. I can make a more professional presentation, document in O365. 2. Mail and Calendar intervention. If you have meeting rooms and such, outlook makes it easier to book a room and invitees to a meeting while doing this in a single window. 3. Slides. Try using slides with a Magic Mouse or anything with a capacitive scroll button. You’ll kill yourself with all of the false slide navigation that happens. That’s all that I can think of off the top of my head. Google docs is an incredibly superior collaboration experience and it feels way more performant as a web app compared to O365.
O365 eats Gsuite for breakfast 🤷🏽♂️
Excel is still king. There's so much lock in there. Same thing with Word for the legal industry.
That means MS is just cashing on existing customers and some of them would lately be switching to GSuite
Only people likely to use GSuite over Office are tech startups with absolute nerds who bum anything open source and hate anything Microsoft. The kind of people who ask what side projects you're working on in an interview even though your resume listed no projects because you have YouTube to watch instead
People keep thinking office web client = office 365. That's not it at all. The web client is just a web client. Office 365 is just the name of the subscription. You get full desktop office part of office 365. When you compare Gsuite subscriptions to office 365, you should compare the whole offering, including the desktop client. The web client is actually free for everyone and has nothing to do with O365. The desktop version of Word is much more powerful than Google docs. The main thing Google docs had for themselves was great live collaboration and the fact that you can use it for free. Collaboration came to office some time ago and it's pretty powerful too.
O365 >>> Gsuite. GSuite is ONLY good for collaboration in real time in a web browser. Ever used GSuite in phone? It’s a POS
I agree. O365 is much much better in every aspect. The new outlook web beta is killing Gsuite in terms of web access, but as said earlier, O365 is much more than just web access.
O365 is garbage. As expected from incompetent people in office though
loled
If you use gmail then gsuite, if you use outlook then office
Lol, I wasn't even comparing emails. But in case of mails, I find outlook desktop to be miles better than Gmail.
Easier access for gmail, and habit built since high school. Desktop usually gave a feeling of running a serious and heavy binary, while web is more accessible, although there might not be too much difference from objective metrics
