One big draw back with atlassian is some positions require cross time zone collaboration so I’d double check with your hiring manager Also we have began to do PIPs and 2x performance cycles that are impact driven so it’s getting a bit more competitive and annoying here similar to meta That said, if you’re a high performer you’re treated well. If you’re trying to coast it’s not as easy as it used to be here
Is the work life balance really bad there? Like can i put in 9-5/6 and be okay? Im not trying to coast but dont want to burn out either
With any company it’s team dependent and how smart you are and how well you manage your time and how good of a rating you want to get. If you’re efficient and draw good boundaries 40 hours a week is plenty

I’ve been getting interviews from most companies. The expectation is pretty high. For coding the expectation is pretty much solve with best approach. Also noticing lots of down leveling going on.
Block seems to have more upside on stock value in longterm. I would recommend keep searching and look for a bigger jump in TC. Also, it’s very enterprisey and you may not like it here coming from B2C.

L6 would’ve been more appropriate for your yoe, you got downleveled. Had you got L6 you’d be looking at 475k + 50k bonus

I'd stay with Block. I've worked for both companies, albeit I'm a few years removed from both. Atlassian is stacked with junior/middle management, focusing more on optics than employee/customer satisfaction.
