Is interview coaching a conflict of interest?
I was approached by an interview prep site about being one of their interview coaches. I know Meta, Google, etc allow other jobs as long as they don’t conflict with your role, is interview coaching technically a conflict? I’d like to help others and make some $ doing it, but only if it’s allowed. Thanks in advance! TC 286

Why don’t you ask your HR? they should have a clear answer for you. It should also be on your contract or employee guide or something.

The real question here is ... how absurd is it that technical interviews have become such a farce that an entire interview coaching industry has surfaced? (The answer is very, very, very absurd.)

Yes it is. Check your company policy.
Imagine a mechanical engineer with 6 yrs experience has to go through coaching to land another job. It’s rigged when you have folks from those companies training interviewers on how to stage replies - not from experience of their own but what the interviewees want to hear. RIP software industry!
Software engineering interviews have essentially become a stage audition. Memorize your lines and just hope you can handle the curveballs.
