It is a discipline of civil engineering, there is a construction engineering section for the PE exam. That being said thanks I don't work in that industry anymore !

Work life balance: it’s consulting, so work/life balance is not great. I have spent a number of nights at the office until 10pm. A 50 hour work week while only billing 40 hours is expected. Supportive of immigration: can’t provide insights here. Opportunities for growth: HDR is known as having limited career growth, unless you are a natural marketer or have an MBA. Money speaks in consulting, and if you can bring in clients it’s the only way to move up. Company activities/engagement: regular free lunches are a nice enough benefit. There’s lots of activities going on (pre covid). Activities done on company time are expected to be made up by working longer at the end of the day. Pros: working on a lot of interesting projects, the pay is decent, beautiful standards and templates and processes in place. Cons: culture is very old school as is typical of most civil engineering firms, not too much opportunity to grow your career unless you can bring in clients, have been screamed and sworn at by managers on the regular.

Thanks! What team/division are you a part of?

Immigration team stinks. They seem to think that Omaha is immigration capital. The team has no clue even on simplest issues like AVR

Oh wow! They’ve been very up front and clear about immigration and support during the interview but I’m trying to confirm that since i’ve had bad experiences in the past and immigration is my main priority right now over other things. Can you dm me?
