How's the TC at gaming companies? Do most gaming company employees get stock?
Currently at around 450 TC, mostly bonus. You'll have a hard time finding a gaming company with very high base pay.
Depends on the company. Bigger companies tend to pay alright, but indie things are pretty terrible. I hear it doesn't compare to normal dev which both isn't and is surprising.
Games pay horrible compared to other areas. You will not get stock except for rare cases in only a few companies.
Really? All the major companies I've worked at have given me stock.
You’re at valve? Clearly an outlier

Very few game companies offer stock, most offer bonuses instead who. Non tech but TC in the major game companies I have worked for is about 65% compared my current TC.

TC is low compared with Internet companies. The most I ever made at a game company is around 210k (due to good cash bonus) as a senior sde.
