I am on H1b visa. Before my H1b transfer is approved, is it ok to have gap (say a few days to one week) between job switch? I want to have some rest before joining the new company. Is there any restriction I should be aware of? (E.g maximum gap days, or maximum times of gap during H1b period).
I'm on H1B and I took 4 weeks off between jobs. No issues
Did you have H1b transfer approved when you took off between jobs?
Yes I waited till I got the approval
Make sure you buy insurance or opt for corba
Why? Can't remember when I visit a doctor last time.
Because a single event can bankrupt you, that's why. Emphasis on the word *insurance*.
Why are you asking this in a random troll forum? Isn't there a lawyer or immigration expert handling your transfer whom you could ask?
You have a 60 day grace period: http://www.immi-usa.com/60-days-h1b-grace-period-2017-final-rule/
60 days but there are guidelines. Read or ask your attorney. https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2016/11/18/2016-27540/retention-of-eb-1-eb-2-and-eb-3-immigrant-workers-and-program-improvements-affecting-high-skilled
Few days don't matter say a week or so, you should be fine. Just that you won't have company's health insurance meanwhile.
He will have insurance. If he gets sick in the gap within 30 days he can apply for Cobra.
