Got laid off in December. Still nothing yet. Should I keep the dates in my resume or change it ? Currently the last position reads xxxx - December 2022 Also, this is the only gap in my resume. Yoe is slightly over 5 years Comment for detailed reasons explaining why. #layoff #severance
That should be fine. If you wish to be on the safe side, put an online course or two on your resume for that period to cover the gap.
You can add career break/hiatus and then add something like travel and online courses and family care. No shame in that
Don’t lie on resume, will get caught in background check. Put something generic like “taking a break” etc
When you have more YOE, you just put in years and not months, then it is irrelevant
Ended in 2022 December though
Too bad it never made it in to 2023 :-) A few years from now it won't matter. Job A : 2019-2022 Job B : 2023-2025 .....
How did you circumvent this hurdle? How did you handle the gap, what are you doing now
