Hi everyone, I am getting an offer from Apple. No TC yet but recruiter told me the good news. The problem is they want me to relocate to Austin. I am currently in the Bay and I would rather stay because I am not about starting a new life there. I am currently in h1b with no green card sponsorship and I see this opportunity as increasing my TC as well as solving my visa issues. I am thinking about pushing back but not sure if it's worth the risk . Any suggestions are appreciated. Many thanks Current TC : 150k Edits: The recruiter did make it specific for Austin (kind of forced, thanks for the advise about moving) I have 5 YOE (but moved to the bay about 1.5 years ago) No family, no children , single. #engineering #software #swe #offer
If you push too much they might withdraw, chances are very low that they will change it for bay based on your request. I would suggest to accept and first solve your immigration problem, just don’t settle down in Austin like buying house etc and move back after a year or so. I know it suck been into same situation and still stuck in Austin
Is it just you? No family to move? Austin gets super hot in the summer. It’s pretty expensive too. Curious what your offer was and your years of experience if you don’t mind sharing?
