(not really addressing to SWE/SDE audience) With TSMC starting to release offers for the candidates which they interviewed, what is the opinion of Intel employees on that? TSMC has definitely succeeded to offer higher Base Pay than Intel to poach talents for their AZ Fab. What do you guys think, Intel's next steps to prevent this?
Need some numbers here
Will the new ceo pat keep investing in US fabs?
Comparing between Intel & TSMC, what you think has more brighter future?
TSMC
Does TASMAC pay well Obviously they have got a good number of customers
Intel is out sourcing their i3 to TSMC already... not sure how they are going g to stop the hemorrhaging
If I were you I'd leave Intel in 2017. The next best opportunity is right now. Good luck out of that sinking ship.
Their stock is doing a lot better though
No it isn't. There are many other stocks that are doing much better. TSM, AMD, ASML, LRCX to name a few. Intel lacks leadership, vision, innovation, and talent. They're not digging themselves out of their hole for a while.
TSMC is a sweat shop. They drive their employees haaaarrrdddcore. Be ready to commit and dedicate your life to work.
Why would they try to prevent employees from leaving. They want you to leave and get that TSMC “training”. Then you will eventually get tired of Taiwanese work culture and come back. But now, you know the TSMC secret sauce.
Do you have any details of such offers?
Yes one of my friends got one. TSMC will be sending them to Taiwan for 18month training (starting April)
Okay..... Thanks.... Are the offers any better than Intel? By how much?
