Men and women are doing same work. Women got paid less. So why don't employers always just hire woman, so they get same work done and pay less wage?
Gender pay gap is not the same thing as equal pay. Gender pay gap takes mean and median of earnings of women vs men. Regardless of level. This calls out that there are more senior men than women. Still an issue to address, but not the issue that it appears to be when titled as such (and even the media is not always positioning it clearly)
This is a woman and here is my observation. Many will disagree with this but it's a bitter truth. **Not all woman work as hard as man do** There are some exception out there and I've seen some woman work above and beyond to get job done but those cases are very few. Men and women experience very different workplaces, ones in which the odds for advancement vary widely and corporate careers come in two flavors: his and hers. In my observation, there are different fundamental reasons why both men and women work and those reasons play very important role towards your attitude at work and at your career. In most cases, ( specifically in high tech Corp culture) woman do work because either they do not want to sit home or they want to be self dependent and wish to live a lavish life. They are free to say bye bye to any job at any time they want when there are other priority things in life. (E.g. family, kids etc) While in contrast, in majority of the cases, man has to work because he is responsible to put food on the table. They cannot afford to compromise with their career even when there are other priority things in life. Woman's can often get away with kids or family reasons when there is a requirement of putting late night hours, weekend shifts, long international or domestic travelling etc. Men cannot afford to give those reasons and put their career at risk even though those reasons are equally valid for him. I believe, your attitude do determine how much obsess you are with your work and career and eventually that becomes determining factor of total compansation.
What about male models? They earn half of what was women make...
Lmfao. You can’t be serious. Hire the best person for the job...regardless of gender.
Men are comfortable being boys in a chummy sort of way. In my experience, I observe men operating differently from women in that sense. Men joke around, curse and make decisions in informal settings. The dynamic becomes strained when it involves women. That's why men prefer dealing with men. And that's why even if women are in the workplace with the same role/title, unless this men's club environment becomes diverse, women are not seen as backroom wheeler-dealers. And that results in less pay. Remember these are dealings with other men like themselves.
Women and men aren't doing the same work. Women go into careers with lower pay.
Let the deserving deserve what he/she deserves. Amen.

Any Indians Think Kashmir Should be Independent?
Because they actually have a bias that women are really worth less. There is still tribal culture at many places where folks don’t prefer women but won’t/can’t say it out loud. Hence the forced requirement of affirmative action

Wrong. There’s no bias. Other factors such as lifestyle choices and job choices account for the difference. Stop spreading falsehood. https://www.dol.gov/wb/resources/womens_earnings_and_the_wage_gap_17.pdf
