I have an interview with general motors for a Project Manager position that is advertized as level 7B. Having no idea of what this level means I am writing this post to see if anyone can help me understand the following: 1. How many levels are there at GM and where does 7B stand? 2. Typically for level 7B how many years of experience and education are needed? 3. What are typical salary ranges for level 7b in Detroit, MI and in Austin, TX Yoe: 8 Current TC: $145k metro Detroit #auto #interview #generalmotors #levels
Try to push it for 7A if they make an offer. It goes as 5A 6B 6A 7B 7A---- and then big bonus and salary jump with 8B 8A and after this undisclosed level
Thank you for your response. This is helpful. I will try to negotiate for 7a if it comes to that point
And salary range is depending on the position but no less than 150k
Okay thanks. Do you know what level ranges typically are given to PMs. Like all PMs are at 7 or are there PM positions at 8 and 6 as well. Also, how many years of experience typically qualifies for level 7. Asking becasue I am 8 yoe (almost 9 in 2 months) with a Masters degree and if level 7B makes sense or should I be asking for a higher level based on my exp/education
5b,5a, 6b, 6a, 7c, 7b, 7a, 8c, 8b, 8a, 9x, executive/undisclosed number generally illustrates are you a worker (6) a team lead (7, 7a) a manager (8) or a director/vp. You can be a 7a and make more money than a 8b. The number dictates profit sharing, a 7th level gets 13% 6th level gets 10%.
Thanks. This is helpful
Hey.. Any idea what salary grade a system specialist role would be within GM? (Job description says 5+ years of experience needed)
Austin is expensive. Do your calculations beforehand
Noted. Thanks
