Have an offer at GM for a non-tech role as a level 9. What are the salary bands for c, b, and a within level 9? Also anyone have experience negotiating up to an “executive” level? Comp at GM would be a step down from my current role and current offer has no stock grant, which I view as a big loss. Current tc: $245k salary, $25k+ cash bonus, $100k stock options
Did you simply ask what level the position was at? Interviewing now, trying to get an idea of salary bands myself, but can’t figure out if all non tech positions have associated levels.
Yeah it’s level 9C. Salary is $190k.
i wanna say a lvl 8C is around 140k so if you keep going up 10% per level that takes you to around 185 at 9C
You're not gonna find people on blind in non engineering that high up
250k sounds way too rich for gm even at that high level
Is it engineering or legal ? If engineering you are getting underpaid
Legal. Quite frankly, also underpaid at that, too.
Probably, ask for more.
9 median is 240 (not sure about 9C) I think and usually has stock options. There is a lot of room for negotiation at lvl9. You need to justify the value you bring in.
9 is essentially exec at GM
No it's not... it's only senior Manger title or tech fellow. Not even directors are exec. Execs start with executive directors.
Not sure about salary band but you also get free company car starting from lv 8.
Yes, 9 is considered exec. At least in non-tech area that I've worked in
