Hola folks, Can anyone shed some light on how good/bad is George Mason University for Masters in Computer Science? Primarily looking for job opportunities after graduation. Also is San Diego state university be better than George Mason for CS. #tech #georgemason #masters
I attended and think it's a pretty good program for professionals. Can't speak to the academic research side of things though. The instructors are all pretty good. Most of the classes I took were with tenured or tenure-track professors who have been in their respective fields for decades and know what they're talking about. Volgenau Engineering building and the main library are also brand new. Drawbacks are that GMU is a commuter school, so parking can get crowded and there isn't a ton of social activity. Can't say whether SD State is better for you or not, but as far as rankings go, US News has GMU ranked 68 and SD State at 147.
Mostly a choice between east and west coast. Both are middle tier programs.
It’s a pretty good program. I know folks who’ve gone there. Volgenau school of engineering is top tier in VA. Mason is overall a good school
