Anyone have advice on developing your skillset such that you can position yourself for a different role? I'm currently in sales and want to pivot to a more technical role that will allow me to learn and grow (research, analysis, modeling). What type of courses can I take online / in classroom to develope the hard skills needed for a position in consulting or finance? I understand it'll be a long time to ramp, but just wondering. Thanks!

Just start doing the work. Since you’re at a startup they should be ok with that. Once you transfer roles within the same company it will be easier to switch companies. I’ve seen sales reps be really good SEs, Product Marketers (both more technical roles) — start building decks and creating Kick ass demos. I’ve never seen a rep switch to analysis/modeling..but there’s always a first
Thanks! I appreciate the insight a lot
