Why Pronouns shit captured US ? I don’t see this anywhere else
Hi everyone, I am trying to transition from HW to SW and got a few calls from the following companies- Pure Storage, Riverbed and Amazon. I had OA for Pure Storage and Amazon and got a reject from both. I could solve the coding questions as well as MCQs for Pure Storage completely. For Amazon OA I could pass all test cases for first question and half test cases for the second one (hard problem). I am wondering why have I been rejected from both? Since there is no feedback I really want to understand what I am doing wrong so that I dont blow up my remaining interviews. This is my first time giving SW interviews. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. PS: If you have open positions for someone like me please comment below and i will DM you. Been in HW for 3.5 years.
My tip for OA’s is to “just solve the 💩” if you only get halfway through your attempt at a fancy constant time solution, but your code doesn’t compile or pass the edge cases, then u likely won’t hear back. There have been times where I didn’t pass test cases and still advanced...but there’s also times where I didn’t care and gave the suboptimal, easy to quickly code solution and advanced as well. It’s a coin flip...but try not to waste time on optimal solutions on OA.
Nothing is wrong with you. It happens with everyone. Remember latency to crack first interview is high but throughput after that will be pretty fast.
Your timing is bad .. I think “software is eating everything” is done .. corona just killed it ..🤣
I always find OA’s more difficult than phone screens.
