Excited that dropbox is virtual first. I have 15 yoe and all of it in MS centric technologies (.net, c#). Senior software engineers job posting at Dropbox require having experience with developing web apps using PHP. Staff engineers appear to be technology agnostic but I'm sure PHP background will be preferred. I'm currently a Senior engineer and have played the role of a lead engineer in the past. I'm looking for remote roles. Do I stand a chance at this company? Can I pick up PHP during the ramp up period? Thoughts?
Would dropbox consider moving to a pure php environment? If so, I can recommend some excellent devs
I think the new stuff is react + typescript. I don’t think moving to PHP is even a possibility.
I think you may be referring to hellosign. Our main stack is php. I got in with 0 php experience. Official ramp up period is 3 months, so I think you’d be ok
What tech did you work on earlier? What's your yoe
4 yoe, mostly backend JavaScript, some golang and c#. The interview was language agnostic(like most are) but I think I did particularly well in the system design, such may have helped

Lol we don’t use php. Maybe you talking about hellosign?
I guess. Are you only hiring for hello sign that's fully remote? What tech stack does Dropbox use? Lol I'm confused
No all of dbx is fully remote
