Been trying to get an offer but getting rejects. The feedback I receive is to have stronger system design and coding rounds For system design, I was able to come up with scalable design, I compared my design with real world architecture of similar applications and they were close. For coding I did about 300LC, although I did it 1.5 years ago and might be out of practice but was still able solve the coding rounds without help. What should I do differently? Mock interviews at interviewing.io ? More coding practice? Current TC 250-275k YOE 7 Onsites Roblox IC4+ MongoDB senior software engineer
u solved w/o help and feedback was need stronger coding rounds?? was solution correct?
I am sure it was correct, I saw the questions before on LC..might have needed some hints
pretty good after a year+ break!
why leave LinkedIn?
Bad team, pip fear etc
what about internal transfer?
They hired a better candidate. The bar in 2023 is much higher than 2021, so don’t rely on previous data.
I hope this is the case because I can’t think of anything else to improve..practice more and hope to have a perfect onsite
What was your system design question at Roblox?
Dm I’ll let you know
Thanks man! Just did
System design interviews are inherently flawed. Imagine you get one hour to traverse a tree in the coding interview and then you are expected to come up with the design of an entire platform in the same amount of time? That does not make any sense. The reality is that the expectation of a system design interview is to come up with the solution the interviewer has in mind. So you have to ask and refine the requirements until you understand what it is that they are looking for, which isn't necessarily the right solution.
It’s not just about the final answer but interviewer need to know how you are reaching there. If that’s missing then that could be one of the red flags.
Hey man. . What did you get asked in your System Design interview?
Are you making sure to vibe with your interviewer?
Not sure how to do that
Also interview results should not be based on vibes..otherwise introvert like me will not get a job
