I work 60 hour weeks on my current team. I asked my manager to help me move up ahead of other engineers that have been here much longer. I even tell him all the small talk happening around. He still doesn't want to commit to promoting me. What should I do?
Are... Are you tattling on your co-workers? Probably a turn off especially if promotion would gain you direct reports
Quit snitching... he’ll think you’re snitching on him as well.
BECAUSE YOU ARE A SNITCH!

You work too many hours you wont have bandwidth to get promoted. Also gossip is for junior employees.
If you are gossiping about your peers to Manager then I don't think any good manager will promote you
Maybe do good work rather than expect hours and gossip leads to promotions? You sound like a toxic employee that i would get rid of in a heartbeat.
Working 60 hours is probably affecting your performance negatively. Working more hours and management thinking that “paying your dues” is admirable is a toxic environment.
What is accomplished in those 60 hours? I hope this is obvious, but your deliverables need to reflect that extra time. Only an idiot will promote you because you are "the first to arrive and last to leave"
