Had the most awful experience of interviewing at a FAANG. Had my phone interview, recruiter confirmed for onsite and asked for my availability. I asked for March 12th. There was no save the date at that point, coordinator was saying, she is working on it. Got scheduled for a prep call with a second recruiter, mentioned that I haven't received any save the date, he said 2 out of the 6 slots have been confirmed so far, you will receive an email soon. A week goes by nothing, sent an email to the coordinator again about how are things going? No reply, sent email to the 2nd recruiter, replies they are really busy, but the interview will take place at 12th. No accommodation or travel planning or anything is sent, I asked how I am going to travel ? No reply. 4 days later, sent another email to all three about what's the status, has it been cancelled, rescheduled due to Corona, or skyped? Like give me something. No reply from none, ghosted from that point onwards. Can't believe a top company can be this much inefficient and unprofessional. My interview has been cancelled of course, but after spending my time for a phone interview, an on-site confirmation, and a prep call, as a candidate, I have the right to at least know that it has been cancelled and for this reason. Don't know how these people sleep at night ?
Currently on a similar pattern w Facebook!
This is a bad time to judge the interview process with people not coming to work and general chaos. Recruiters are bad enough at communication on normal days, so imagine how much they are struggling now.
March 13? Chill out bro it's like two weeks out
7 working days out. They should have confirmed already.
March 12th actually, so 6 working days out. Definitely, it's not happening then. I am suspecting a hiring freeze, but not letting the interviewee know about any status at all is extremely unprofessional. I understand the Corona situation, but I am interviewing at other places too, everyone else is responding just fine.
Its not the company fault but you probably got a lazy coordinator. One time I had a telephone interview with a HM at Cloudera. I took the day off for the call, and waited like an idiot looking at my phone. Nobody called, nor replied to my emails. I was notified via email 4 hours later that the manager was “busy” and had to reschedule. Then on the reschedule, there was no apology or mention of it, the HM sounded uninterested, and old, I felt at that point I didn’t want to work for this dude.
Same with my Amazon interviews. Very limited and scattered communication
