To bring a canidiate onsite - especially for a Director level position is a time commitment. Not providing feedback is disrespectful. I’ve heard that Microsoft doesn’t have their shit together but didn’t expect it to be this bad. Glad I got this data point now versus continuing to interview there and worst case joining. TC: 300 YOE: 15
Don't generalize. From what I've seen, every company of large enough size has people that will do this to you. There are bad apples everywhere. Don't let one bad person turn you off an entire company. The company is large enough where you can try again with completely different people, have a great experience, and never run into the ones that offended you the first time around Just mention this in the interview feedback and move on
You absolutely should judge a company by the bad apples. It means that the company tolerates such behavior
If a bad apple exists at any point in time, nothing can be done until someone makes this behavior known (e.g. in the candidate experience survey). If the candidate reports the problem and nothing changes, sure, the company tolerates such behavior. But in this case you can't look at this bad apple and jump to such a conclusion. There has been no opportunity for Microsoft to issue a correction as far as we know. No place will be perfect 100% of the time, it's about the corrections and adjustments that are made to chase perfection
Is your recruiter not responding? Can you reach out to others on your chains? The recruiter may have changed roles or left. FWIW, There are also times the hiring process there a really long time, especially at director+ levels.
Everyone is on vacation right now
My friend didn't receive feedback and he escalate
He pissed the recruiter really bad.
FWIW, my experience with Amazon was identical.
What's the over under on how long he's waited, I bet 6 days
Right, you’re director, they should welcome you with red carpet, caviar and champagne. You must be so special if your title says “director”
What kind of director? Can't imagine 300k TC for director. Sounds more like semi senior IC
Maybe your recruiter is just out for the holidays. It's starting to get real empty around here. How long ago was your loop?
How long they made you wait
300k for a director level. Would be waiting a loooong time
