Hey blinders What’s the culture like at GitHub these days? I keep hearing mixed reviews on what it’s like now since the Microsoft takeover. Any insight? If not I’m looking for a referral. Lmk if you can thanks!
Feel free for referral DM and more info regarding GitHub WLB is good Decent pay Lots of attrition including in LT which has been tough
What is LT?
Leadership team
I really love the culture. But with the attrition, morale is low. Pay is normie boring msft range.
Why are people leaving?
Why so many in LT left, don't know. Enterprise which is supposed to be the moneyminter seems to be failing. But in general isn't attrition high even in Microsoft? I'm from India and most who left are joining Google. Google recruiters are reaching out to all levels.
I was considering applying there. Would anyone know what is causing the attrition?
Low salary Slow paced work I like it, it gives work life balance so
Post MSFT acquisition and the politics that came about is a major reason too
How’s Celonis? Also are you in Munich?
Good culture still Good WLB Bad compensation after on hire stocks comparative to other top companies
Would you mind dm?
Go ahead:)
What's the CTC for staff levels?
Depends which country you are in and YOE etc
India, 16. YoE. Current 85L.
If you like innovation and having impact, it's best to go elsewhere. MSFT has taken away everything that made GitHub great
Does GitHub do location adjusted pay for remote?
Yup location based pay
Some parts of github are great. Some aren’t. It really depends.
How is the work in Github Actions team. Is there LT attrition within this team?
It good Nice work life balance Remote work
