This is so dumb
Not sure if we are getting smarter or dumber?
You remind me of the anti-LGBTQ crowd whinging that marriage equality was too costly, because the forms had to be updated.
I get it, and I'm not opposed to using different naming going forward, but I think this is more analogous to if we had then renamed the concept of heterogeneous computing to something else because it was too heteronormative than it is to blocking legalization of gay marriage.
Don’t think the OP ever said anything about anti-LGBTQ marriage. Nice try 850.
All hypocracy , there so many real and concrete things to do in this world than this!
In that case “cherry-pick” also sexist comment
Do people have problems with git checkout, pull, push also?
My company is doing a find-and-replace in all of our repos to get rid of "blacklist" and "whitelist" because "it implies black means bad and white means good"
Black box and white box testing is next.
Somebody post that meme about the Simpson character changing their fb profile pic with the caption “ I’m helping right?”.
This low hanging fruit is such a waste of time.
A find-and-replace script could accomplish this in 10 seconds
Go ahead and find-and-replace on the entire history of Git and literature out there. The actual amount of time isn’t even the main point. I fail to see how this sparks a change that makes an actual difference. Leaders shouldnt go after low hanging fruit. I’d rather see GitHubs announcements on recruiting. Or big techs answer to education for underrepresented communities. Or them funding a group that makes an actual difference. Changing the name of a branch in your internal walled garden is a waste of time in that sense.
