I submitted my backend "take-home" assignment to their automated interview bot almost three weeks ago and still have not heard anything. Curious if anyone else has gone through this process or is currently in the same boat. I don't even have a point of contact to email so guessing they are just swamped right now. #github
Github is very slow with interview process. It took over 6 weeks from take home assignment to final round for me
How was final round? Kinda worried about interviewing in ruby, I’m not a ruby dev
GitHub interview process can be really slow. That said, if you haven’t heard back, I don’t know what that means. If you can find the recruiter on the job listing, maybe they can give you an answer.
I submitted and heard back the next week to schedule an onsite.
How was the on-site? Mind sharing?
Thought it wasn’t too bad. Hiring manager chat and then a coding round to do some api requests. There’s a PR review round too but not really sure what they are looking for. And then another round of behavioral. They don’t provide feedback lol.
Someone I know interviewed for a PM role in GitHub last year. I know it may not be the same but want to share a data point here. The process included a take home assignment, the recruiter engaged and the interview was a presentation and discussion with a committee. The candidate passed this round but received a call of rejection after they completed 3 of 4 of the on-site rounds with no feedback shared.
