GoDaddy work culture

Based on what I've seen here, the culture is different in the AZ offices compared to the Sunnyvale and Kirkland offices. I work out of AZ, and can say that things have been pretty stable for quite some time. The only person I've seen get fired had it coming for a while. Comp isn't bad, benefits are pretty good, and WL balance is pretty solid. The people, ICs at least, are all great. Management is trying to find their footing I think, and tends to favor top down Engineering, which can be frustrating, but I think some of that is going to work itself out in the near future. All in all, I like working here.

I have been working at Godaddy for 5 years now out of the Sunnyvale office and have been enjoying my work and the culture. Godaddy is a fairly large company in terms of engineering organization so you might find differences in terms of employee experience. The business unit that I am part of has great transparent, very reasonable engineering leadership. There is a lot of challenges that we have solved and are still trying to solve for. The company stock growing is also a testament of the direction and vision of the company going in the right direction. Work life balance is great, people can take time off, work from home, work at their schedule and also work from anywhere. We are a very distributed team and heavily depend on remote collaboration tools like slack, zoom and Invision. Overall I would highly recommend GoDaddy as an engineering company.
