Interested in how this interview works and if anyone has tips. I understand the obvious parts such as online collaboration but just curious about : 1) what types of questions they might ask ie. is it all algo based, oop principle based, implementation based (api, input/output oriented) etc. 2) is it timed? 3) Are they just trying see if the candidate is an idiot or are they trying to weed out tye 90% to get the top 10%. Also, any “dos and don’ts” are appreciated. ~TC 108k
No one wants top 90%. They want top 10% (90th percentile)! It will be algo. But Leetcode easy level.
Haha, I messed up the phraseology . Just fixed it.
Easy? Really? That's so sad.
“Online collaboration” LOL. The interviewer will do other things while you code. If you’re running out of time then they’ll jump in. Of course they’ll use a voice that implies that the solution is so obvious. They might even paste it in at the end, and ask you if you need help understanding it. GS interviewers are shockingly arrogant. I did a full day with them in 2010 and I still remember how awful they all were (and this was when you didn’t have to write code at all during the process). The other day I did my first Coderpad with GS just for fun. And what do you know, the voice at the other end of the line has that same godawful style that I remember from 9 years ago. The worst big company you could possibly work for — or, at least, interview with.
Lol
Sorry that you had a bad experience, but the way you're saying that suggests that you either had a preconceived bias.
"You have 30 minutes to implement a function that accepts an English date and converts it to a lunar date".
Lol that was the actual question? Did they let you google stuff? How are you supposed to know lunar dates otherwise?
I'm just kidding 🤣😂. But would be great if it was true
